Hairdressing, cosmetics and nail design

Hairdressing, cosmetics and nail design

The new branch of House of Beauty in Balzers, Liechtenstein, covers an area of 115m2. Central to the design of this space are its differently sized architectural framework elements, which are used as functional or decorative features. Figuratively, and in keeping with the beauty theme, the frames also imply being ‘in the picture’ or ‘centre stage’. The design style of the raised ceiling in the centre calls to mind an atrium and gives the space a monumental feel. The blown-up image in the recess behind the washbasins gives the room its character and symbolises transformation, renewal and change.
