Until recently, electrical engineering was one of those trades whose services had limited exhibition value. Wiring diagrams, circuits, or fuse boxes – as long as everything worked in the end, it was all that mattered. However, the industry has undergone a transformation. With the digitization of our living environments, not only have the skills of these specialist planners gained importance, but the range of applications has also become so vast and diverse that it can now be showcased in a showroom. This is the self-concept of a competence center established in 1932 by a traditional company, where the range of services for both commercial and private users is on display, and specialists are available for comprehensive, product-independent consultation. This self-concept is reflected in the objective, neutral atmosphere of the spacious area. The layout of the space and the furnishings allow for various consultation scenarios: both focused discussions in small groups and product presentations, as well as the simulation of different lighting options in front of a larger audience. The design proves itself as a backdrop for remarkably diverse requirements: it can adapt equally well to a high-tech security installation as it can to the comfort of a smart home application.
